Bristol Rovers’ longest serving manager
Darrell Clarke is the favourite to take over as Bristol Rovers’ next manager after Paul Tisdale’s retirement. Clarke has previously managed the club from 2014 to 2018, overseeing a promotion from League Two to League One. He left the club in December 2018 to take up the post of manager at Walsall. The odds of Clarke taking over the Pirates are very high, but it is not a foregone conclusion that he will return to his old club.
The former England international was appointed as manager of Bristol Rovers on 22nd February 2021. The club were in the relegation zone when he took over, and he guided the club back to the Premier League after just one season. Before taking over at the club, he was the manager of Fleetwood Town, and was in charge of the club for two seasons. Prior to that, Barton had also spent time at QPR and Manchester City.
Since joining the Football League in 1920, the club has had seven full-time managers. Alfred Homer, an assistant secretary of Aston Villa, took on the role of manager-secretary for 21 years. Other notable managers include Ben Hall, who lasted only one season in charge, and Andrew Wilson, who was the club’s first non-English manager.
In the 2004/05 season, Rovers reached the FA Cup quarter-finals for the first time. Richard Walker scored twice in the tie, while Sammy Igoe added a third goal in the final minute of the match. In the following season, Rovers reached the same stage, but lost to Premiership side Fulham. Despite the setback, Rovers’ success continued, and they finished third in the league table in October.

Bristol Rovers are a football club in England. They were promoted from League Two last season. The Italian sportswear manufacturer Macron has extended their kit supplier deal with Levante for a further three years. The two sides first agreed a two-year deal in 2016 and this has been renewed for another three years. The initial deal was worth a reported EUR900,000 (US$947,898).
The deal is worth PS30 million a year, but is considerably less than the PS45 million paid to New Balance by Liverpool. The new deal involves sales-based add-ons and a 20 percent cut of the club’s overall sales. Despite this, Liverpool are hardly the only club to switch kit suppliers.
Several Premier League clubs have recently signed long-term kit deals. Manchester United have been with Adidas since the 2015-16 season. Newcastle United have a deal with Adidas that runs until 2021. Their kit supplier deal is similar to that of Leeds United. After Leeds, Puma’s brand was replaced by Adidas.
